AntiSpam Personal is the no nonsense, no compromise solution to stopping unsolicited email from cluttering your inbox. AntiSpam Personal uses what is called a White-list or Challenge and Response technique to stop emails from forged or invalid email addresses from reaching your inbox. It works with all email programs that access standard POP3 email servers: Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, etc.
No Messing with filters, alternate email addresses, or setting up of rules.
Stops SPAM, and only SPAM at the server
Runs automatically in the background
Simple setup
For Windows 98,NT,2000,XP
"I made this program so easy to use that my grandparent's, the ultimate computer novices, can use it... and do. I wanted them to be able
to use the Internet without having to deal with the deluge of email scams and random email virus attacks that seem to plague the Internet."
- Brian Adams, Principle Architect of AntiSpam Personal
AntiSpam keeps a list of all email addresses you correspond with. Any email from a source not in that list of familiar email addresses is sent a verification email to verify the email is from a legitimate email user. Since 90% of spam is sent from bogus or unmonitored email addresses these emails will never be verified and will be automatically deleted from your email server by AntiSpam.
When AntiSpam detects new email on your email server from an unfamiliar email
address the AntiSpam icon in your task bar will turn green. AntiSpam waits
10 minutes before processing those emails. This delay is intended to give
you an opportunity to send an email you may have been expecting directly to your
inbox rather than let AntiSpam process it. After 10 minutes, AntiSpam will
send out verification emails to all unfamiliar addresses and move those emails
to the emails awaiting verification window. Messages awaiting
verification will stay in that state until either the original sender verifies
their email address, AntiSpam receives verification that the originating address
was faked, or 72 hours have passed with no response. After 72 hours,
AntiSpam assumes that the originating email address was sent from an unmonitored
account and will delete the email as Spam. Anytime during that 72 hour and
10 minute process, you can list the emails being held and if you want, you can
release them to go to your inbox.
Important Notes:
- If you use a program to check for new email on your email server, that
program will notify you of not just normal emails, but also about bounced
emails that AntiSpam is using to verify email addresses. If this annoys
you then we recommend just using AntiSpam's built in notification system
instead (AntiSpam's icon in the notification tray turns green when you have
new emails).
